SVP & Managing Director, Business Development

Mary Chung is Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Business Development at Lansons Intermarket. She has over two decades of experience in communications, media and marketing. Prior to joining Lansons Intermarket, she was Head of Marketing, Media Relations and Internal Communications at Nomura, where she led the media and marketing campaigns for the Japanese global bank’s Americas division.

She also held senior executive roles at several financial services companies, including the American Stock Exchange, where she oversaw PR efforts for the ETF, Options and Equities divisions and supported 600 listed companies; ELX Futures, an electronic futures exchange backed by a consortium of banks, including Goldman Sachs, Bank of America and JP Morgan; and Broadway Technology, a provider of high-performance trading software for banks and hedge funds.

Mary also ran her own independent PR firm, Smash Street Media, where she spent five years promoting and protecting the brands and reputations of over 30 clients in fintech, financial services, entertainment, and pharmaceuticals. She also worked with numerous startups and hosted media events at CES, the premier global stage for consumer technologies.

Mary started her career as a journalist working for some of the world’s biggest media companies including the Financial Times, CBS News and Reuters. Mary has appeared on television and radio, including ABC News, CNN and BBC. Her news stories have been published in the FT, Chicago Tribune, Ottawa Citizen and Toronto Sun. She received a Bachelor's Degree, double majoring in Journalism and Political Science from Carleton University and a Master's Degree in Journalism from Columbia University.
